····················································

More bonjour!
As I promised, today I bring you the second part of my wonderful trip to Paris. This day, the tour was for much of the city, so today's post will be a little better.

····················································

We started in the imposing Cathedral of Notre Dame, one of the oldest buildings in the Gothic style of the time. It began with its construction in 1163 and was completed in 1345. Although its leap to fame was through the Disney movie "The Hunchback of Notre Dame".

····················································

Then, we walked almost to the River Seine, which has countless bridges along its path and taking advantage of the wonderful sunny day I was doing, I sat for a while to enjoy the views that it offered.

····················································

Now it was the turn to the national museum of France, the Louvre. Obviously it is one of the largest in the world full of works of fine art, archeology and decorative arts. The entry costs 12 euros if you are over 25 years (My 26 bday was the last week, so I had bad luck) and is tremendously huge, so I recommend to spend several hours if you really want to look good every one of its rooms.

····················································

Among its most important works is as many know, the Mona Lisa or Gioconda of Leonardo Da Vinci, which surprised me by the small size it presents. I imagined more big, but must also be the fact that it was in a crystal and a ribbon in front of it for the public not to approach. Still, I was fortunate to meet with one of the most important works of the world.

························································

As for sculpture, I want to give the prominence it deserves also Victory of Samothrace. It was made of marble around the year 190 BC by the Greeks, who chose to represent the victory in the guise of a winged woman, messenger of Zeus. I think I have said on more than one occasion that the subject of art in high school was my favorite, well, here's the sculpture that I loved and I studied with much enjoyment.

····················································

Leaving the museum we walked through a beautiful garden full of sculptures, flowers and trees, where you can sunbathe with superb views. It is the garden of the Tuileries.

····················································

At the end of this you find the Obelisk of Luxor belonging to the Square of  Concorde, the second largest in France, which starts at the Avenue Champs Elysees.

····················································

On the right side of this square and straight, you can find another famous monument in Paris, the Madeleine Church. Is a Catholic church even if looks like Greek and bring confusion to see outside. But once inside looks like a Catholic Church. It is in a prestigious shopping area and near it you can also access the famous Galeries Lafayette.

····················································

From the obelisk that I showed above you can be seen through the Champs-Élysées another of the most famous monuments of this city: Arc de Triomphe. It was built between 1806 and 1836 by Napoleon Bonaparte to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Austerlitz.

····················································

And last, but as no less important... The monument for excellence of this city, with the tallest structure and the largest number of visits per year: The great Eiffel Tower. Incredibly, it was built in two years, two months and five days, designed by Maurice Koechlin and Emile Nouguier and built by French engineer Gustave Eiffel and his staff for the Universal Exhibition of 1889 in Paris.

As obvious, you can feel surprised to be under it for its great height and size to see both iron along, but even better is the feeling to be up to it and watch the Parisian wonders for so many meters. This time I could not up to it to save time queuing, but I could do it 10 years in my other visit to the city. Still, I did not lose time because I took the sun which Paris under his shadow like a parisian.

····················································

In this post I wanted not give importance to look because the entire city had its charms, but you could see I wore comfortable jeans, sweater with parisian letters and slippers with a little platform and floral print. The sneakers and the swater are from my favorite English store New Look and Bershka jeans.

So here's another experience I've done for keep in my mind and as you can see in a weekend gives plenty of time to see new places. Don't miss the next trip awaits me this week, I also will tell all the details here.

Kisses!
