Welcome December! Doy la bienvenida a este nuevo mes tan peculiar por sus maravillosas fiestas navideñas que unen tanto a familiares y amigos, y aunque, esta vez no pueda pasarlas con los míos, sé que quedarán muchas más que compartir con ellos.

En el post de hoy les traigo otro rinconcito de Londres, Canary Wharf. Es un gran complejo financiero situado en el barrio de Tower Hamlest, donde se encuentran los tres edificios más altos de Reino Unido. Entre 1802 y 1980, la zona fue muy concurrida debido a su puerto y sus conexiones con otras partes del mundo, entre ellas como no, con mi tierra, las Islas Canarias. Es por esto que toma su nombre en honor a ellas y sus intercambios marítimos allá por el siglo XVI.

Welcome December! I welcome this new month so peculiar for its wonderful holidays that bind to both family and friends, and although this time I can't pass them with mine, I know it will be many more to share with them.

In today's post I bring another corner of London, Canary Wharf. It is a great financial resort in Hamlest Tower neighborhood, where there are the three tallest buildings in the UK. Between 1802 and 1980, the area was very busy due to its harbor and its connections to other parts of the world, including of course, my land, the Canary Islands. That is why it is named in honor of them and their maritime trade back in the sixteenth century.

¿No es maravilloso? Saber que los canarios hemos sido tan importantes para los ingleses, como para poner nuestro nombre a una parte de su ciudad y saber que gracias a ellos conseguimos salir de la pobreza en aquellos fatídicos años en los que se pasó tanta hambre... 

Me hace sentir más orgullosa de mi tierra y de estar viviendo aquí.

Este pedacito de Londres está lleno de grandes edificios como nombré anteriormente, así que puedo asegurar que aunque aún no he visitado Nueva York, creo que es lo más que se le puede parecer... ¡Juzguen ustedes mismos!

Is not it wonderful? Knowing that canaries have been so important to the English people, to put our name to a part of their city and know that because of them we got out of poverty in those fateful years that passed so hungry...

It makes me feel proud of my country and living here.

This part of London is full of large buildings as I named above, so I can assure you that although I have not yet visited New York, I think that is the most that may seem...

En cuanto a mi look, al mirar esta vez las predicciones meteorológicas advertían que haría un buen día soleado, por lo que decidí sacar mi nueva parka a pasear e incluso aproveché para llevar gafas de sol.

As for my outfit, looking this time the weather forecasts they warned it would make a nice sunny day, so I decided to wear my new parka and even to wearing sunglasses.

Llevo jeans y botas de Primark, jersey de punto y gafas de Stradivarius y Parka de New Look.
